Flowers don’t bloom everyday and neither do we. There are all kinds of flowers in different shapes, colors, and textures. As humans, we are all different, but alike in the fact that we are not perfect. We are unapologetically beautiful and bloom differently. Be patient with yourself  on those days when it is too hot, too cold, no rain, or no sun. Go ahead, take a deep breathe and say,
“It is okay not to be okay.”
Stop trying to bloom alone.
Make mental health a priority.

Bloom. Shine. Grow.

Child Counseling
Child Counseling

Child counseling focuses on children experiencing changes in how they learn, behave, or handle emotions that cause distress throughout the day; this is a sign that mental health services are needed. Every child is unique, and the reasons for seeking counseling differ from child to child. Child counseling also provides aid to children who have experienced trauma and are experiencing a dysfunctional or stressful home environment.

A child's social-emotional development offers important clues about a child's mental health. As parents, it is easy for us to identify our children's physical needs, but have you ever thought about what your child needs mentally and emotionally? How a child thinks and feels about themselves and how they respond to the world around them is their mental health. Mental health is essential to a child's overall health. Child counseling is a great way to support children and families to build and develop skills to help them throughout their lives.

Adolescent Counseling
Adolescent Counseling

Many young people struggle to navigate their feelings while facing the unique challenges of adolescence. Adolescent counseling tailors to those unique struggles with stress, peer pressure, low self-esteem, identity insecurities, feeling overwhelmed about their future, dating drama, mood instability, feeling of sadness, etc. Many adolescents or teens suffer in silence because they lack a safe, non-judgmental space to share themselves. Feeling connected and supported are essential ingredients for being understood.

Unfortunately, some teens don't have the vocabulary or skills to communicate their thoughts and feelings. Their behavior, even when it is, at times, physical, inappropriate, or disruptive, is communication. Behaviors are never random. All behaviors are goal-oriented or purposeful, even when you cannot see the purpose.

Adolescent counseling helps your teens understand and manage their emotions to increase their self-awareness. Self-awareness is knowing how your strengths, weaknesses, character, and personality affect your choices (behaviors). Being self-aware is knowing who you are and how you differ from others around you. Teens with self-awareness have strong empathy, critical thinking, effective communication, emotional management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Parenting Guidance
Parenting Guidance

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness and doesn't make you a bad parent. Admitting that help is needed and don't have all the answers is a positive step. Seeking counseling services and saying, "I need help." is the first of many steps towards victory. However, counseling is not the easy way out. Child/Adolescent Counseling works best when parents and the counselor work together.

Parent involvement is essential to support, guide, and reinforce new skills learned in the counseling process. Engagement in counseling can also help parents become aware of past experiences and upbringing that strongly influence their parenting style and preconceptions of "good or bad." The therapist may be the expert, but you are your child's expert. Your input and involvement are invaluable! Ask questions—share experiences. Support and reinforce new skills learned in sessions at home. Make suggestions.
